Killing the well to perform an intervention usually means pumping heavy fluid or mud. This can increase the risks of reservoir formation damage and result in costly stimulations or decreased well performance. Snubbing is one of the most capable, safe and efficient tools for the removal or installation of tubular from a live, fully pressurized well.
Our custom-built Snubbing Unit technology allows well intervention to happen live – with minimal risk to production levels.
Snubbing units have a technical advantage over conventional drilling.
The ability to pull existing completions, drill open holes and re-complete the wellbore at near balanced, underbalanced or flowing conditions, allows our units to bridge the technological gap between derrick equipment sets and coiled tubing.
We provide you with a team of dedicated, experienced engineers that ensure operations on live wells are performed safely and efficiently.
Live well applications
When a blocked completion prevented a well from being killed, the WG003 HWO was mobilised to pull the completion live and then kill the well.
Electric power for reduced emmissions
Six artificially lifted wells, in need of workover, on a platform with no derrick. WellGear 460k Hydraulic Workover Unit succesfully replaced all six ESPs.
