WellGear is expanding rapidly in the Netherlands and internationally. We maintain, repair, and decommission oil, gas, and salt wells, and we contribute to the energy transition with projects in geothermal energy and underground hydrogen storage. From our base in Westerbork (and from March 2026 our new facility in Assen) we work every day on safe, innovative, and efficient solutions that make a real impact.
To support our continued professionalization, we are looking for an experienced Buyer who can make a difference in quality, contract strategy, and supplier management.
What will you do?
As a Buyer, you are responsible for the full procurement and contract management process within WellGear. This is a versatile role in which you operate both strategically and operationally. You will develop a solid Contracting Strategy, select market parties, lead negotiations, and ensure high performance across our supplier base.
Your work is challenging, diverse, and crucial to the success of our projects. You make sure WellGear can always rely on high‑quality products and services, under the best possible commercial conditions.
Your key responsibilities:
Strategy & Process
- Develop, implement, and keep WellGear’s Contracting Strategy up to date (including for the NAM D&R programs and future contracts).
- Create and manage templates such as RFQ, RFP, Evaluation Matrix, Recommendation to Award, and Sole Source Justification.
- Ensure the correct application of WellGear’s Terms & Conditions.
Procurement & Supplier Selection
- Define demand specifications in cooperation with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct market consultations and supplier analyses.
- Evaluate quotations and perform supplier assessments focusing on quality, reliability, and cost.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms and conditions.
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and service agreements.
- Ensure legal and organizational compliance.
- Monitor contract performance and intervene when deviations occur.
Relationship & Risk Management
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Identify risks and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
- Advise Project Managers on supplier performance and potential scope changes.
What do you bring?
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (additional certifications are a plus).
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
- Strong negotiation skills and persuasiveness.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English (spoken, read, and written).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and procurement systems/software.

We onderhouden, repareren en ontmantelen olie-, gas- en zoutbronnen en bouwen mee aan de energietransitie met projecten in geothermie en ondergrondse waterstofopslag. Wat ga je doen?
Als Inkoper ben jij verantwoordelijk voor het volledige inkoop- en contractmanagementproces binnen WellGear. Een veelzijdige rol waarin je zowel strategisch als operationeel werkt. Je bouwt aan een solide Contracting Strategy, selecteert marktpartijen, voert onderhandelingen en zorgt voor optimale prestaties van onze leveranciers.
Je werk is uitdagend, veelzijdig en van grote invloed op onze projecten. Jij zorgt ervoor dat WellGear altijd kan rekenen op hoogwaardige producten en diensten, tegen de beste voorwaarden.
Jouw belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden:
Strategie & Proces
- Ontwikkelen, implementeren en up-to-date houden van WellGear’s Contracting Strategy (voor o.a. de NAM D&R programma’s en toekomstige contracten).
- Opstellen en beheren van formats zoals RFQ, RFP, Evaluation Matrix, Recommendation to Award en Sole Source Justification.
- Toezien op correct gebruik van WellGear’s Terms & Conditions.
Inkoop en leveranciersselectie
- Formuleren van vraagspecificaties met interne stakeholders.
- Uitvoeren van marktconsultaties en leveranciersanalyses.
- Beoordelen van offertes en uitvoeren van leveranciersassessments op kwaliteit, leverbetrouwbaarheid en kosten.
- Onderhandelen over commerciële en contractuele voorwaarden.
Contractmanagement
- Opstellen, beoordelen en uitonderhandelen van contracten en service agreements.
- Zorgen voor juridische en organisatorische compliance.
- Bewaken van contractprestaties en tijdig ingrijpen bij afwijkingen.
Relatie- & risicomanagement
- Onderhouden en versterken van relaties met strategische leveranciers.
- Identificeren van risico’s en opstellen van beheersmaatregelen.
- Adviseren van Project Managers over prestaties of scopewijzigingen van leveranciers.
Wat breng je mee?
- Een hbo‑diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management of een vergelijkbare richting (aanvullende certificeringen zijn een plus).
- Minimaal 5 jaar ervaring in inkoop of supply-chain.
- Uitgebreide kennis van procurementprocessen en contractmanagement.
- Sterke onderhandelingsvaardigheden en overtuigingskracht.
- Goede beheersing van Nederlandse én Engelse taal (spreken, lezen en schrijven).
- Analytisch, communicatief sterk en in staat om relaties op te bouwen en te onderhouden.
- Ervaring met Microsoft Office en inkoop-/procurementsoftware.
